LABORATORIES

Electrical Technology Laboratory

This course familiarizes the students with the fundamental concepts of electricity and electronics that involve direct current, alternating current, series and parallel resistive circuits, inductance, capacitance, transformers, motors, electronic components, and various types of test equipment found in industry.

 

Electrical Machines Laboratory – I

This course familiarizes the students with the various types of tests for transformers, generators, motors and machines.

 

Digital Electronics Laboratory

This Lab familiarizes the students with the concepts of digital electronics practically and train them to design combinational and sequential logic circuits

 

Signals and Systems Laboratory

This course develops an understanding to describe signals mathematically and to perform mathematical operations on signals and helps students to understand the system properties such as linearity, time invariance, with or without memory, causality, and bounded-input bounded-output stability.

 

Electrical Machines Laboratory – II

This Lab familiarizes the students with the starting methods of 1-phase & 3-phase induction motor and various types of tests for induction motors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Power Electronics Laboratory

This lab familiarizes the students with the working and characteristics of Power Diode, Transistor, MOSFET, Thyristor, Triac, cycloconverters, choppers, rectifiers, inverters and their practical applications.

 

 

Project-I

In this lab students use their basic knowledge to design a small circuit having real time utility.

 

Microprocessors and Microcontrollers Laboratory

This course makes the students to understand and gain knowledge about experiments with Microprocessor and Microcontrollers kits and Software as per the industry requirements.

 

Power Systems Lab

This course gives the practical knowledge of operation of various kinds of relays, circuit breakers & transmission lines and to provide knowledge of practical aspects of transmission lines covering string efficiency of insulators and ABCD parameters.

 

Project-II

Students will develop and practice engineering design skills by working on a team base project. Students will experience all phases of a design process.

 

Control systems Laboratory

Students will learn the different types of controlling techniques to achieve the desired response and will be able to perform system’s time and frequency-domain analysis with response to test inputs. Analysis includes the determination of the system stability.

 

 

 

 

Power Systems – II

This course deals with modern power system operational and control problems and solution techniques like State estimation, contingency analysis, load-frequency control and automatic generation control. Load flow analysis and external equivalents for steady-state operations.

 

Computer Methods in Power System Laboratory

This course covers methods of network modelling by graph theory and algorithmic approach, representation of three phase network elements, Kron reduction technique, Schemes of ordering, short circuit studies using Z bus, load flow equations, Gauss-Seidel and Newton-Raphson methods, fast decoupled methods, AC-DC load flow problems, transient stability solution using modified Euler’s method, sparsity techniques and state estimate of an AC network.
